here's an untried idea: i recently bought a Wittner MT-50 Quartz Metronome to practice guitar. and it struck me right away. 1) there's a blinking light 2) a sync tone with the light 3) an earphone out put (plus a small speaker) 4) on/off switch and variable pulse rates 5) it's small, takes a 9v battery 6) it's only $20.00! this unit could serve as a blooper. either plug it straight into a line input or just hold it up to the mic. the one problem is that the light is not very bright. someone could upgrade this with a momentary switch and a brighter light fairly easy. you heard it here first.
